The Criminal Court has handed down a five-year prison sentence and a fine of KD 4,000 to four individuals, which includes a citizen, a government official, and a mediator, for accepting a bribe of KD 2,000 in exchange for approving 10 residency permits. Additionally, three expatriates were acquitted of charges related to purchasing residency permits. The accused were apprehended by detectives using an entrapment technique. It was reported that the businessman made a profit of 25,000 dinars from engaging in the trade of residence permits.
