According to the latest report from the Central Bank of the Philippines, there has been a significant decrease of around 2.10 percent in remittances from Filipino workers in Kuwait during the initial quarter of 2024. This is in contrast to the overall trend in the region, where remittances from Filipino workers in all Gulf countries rose by 3.63 percent during the same period, amounting to $1.34 billion as opposed to $1.29 billion in the first quarter of 2023. The data analysis also indicates that this rise in remittances was mainly driven by an increase in five Gulf nations, with Qatar leading the way with a growth of approximately 5.09 percent.
