The death toll in the tragic fire incident at a company labour camp in Mangaf has surpassed 49, with the majority of the deceased being Indians. Additionally, several individuals have sustained injuries, some of whom are in critical condition. All the victims have been promptly transported to nearby hospitals for the necessary medical attention, as stated by the ministry. The fire outbreak took place on Wednesday morning at approximately 4 am and is believed to have originated from a gas cylinder stored in the watchman's room.
In response to the incident, the Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah, personally visited the site and instructed the police to apprehend the building owner, the janitor, and the company responsible for the workers residing in the building until the completion of the criminal investigation conducted by the scene's forensic experts.
