Kuwait witnesses a rise in warehouse and housing expenses

  • 20/06/2024

The tragic incident at Mangaf has brought about a new reality for both the government and the private sector in Kuwait. This has led to the implementation of a mandatory procedural framework to revamp the real estate sector, especially in relation to "Bachelor Accommodation" and warehousing facilities. This restructuring is anticipated to result in substantial organizational modifications, ultimately raising the costs associated with warehouses and accommodation for bachelor laborers. As a result, there is a likelihood of increased tender prices in the near future, driven by the necessity for enhanced quality and higher operational expenses.

The Mangaf fire has notably caused a surge in rents for warehouses and buildings designated for bachelor residents, with prices escalating rapidly and significantly. The government has adopted a more stringent approach towards unauthorized warehouses, imposing penalties on offenders.
