800,000 Drug Capsules Seized in Kuwait as Larica Gang Busted

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has dismantled a major drug trafficking gang involved in smuggling and distributing the psychotropic drug “Larica” across the country. The breakthrough came after intelligence was gathered from the main suspect, (M.H.A.M.), a Kuwaiti inmate currently serving time in Central Prison and known for past drug-related convictions.

Investigations revealed that one of his outside associates, (R.Sh.R.F.), an illegal resident, had sold Larica capsules to an undercover agent. Tracking this suspect led authorities to a rented stable in the Kabd area, used as the gang’s storage site. The location was leased for 600 dinars per month through a Kuwaiti citizen (A.Kh.G.A.Z.).

During the raid, the suspect resisted arrest violently, causing damage to security vehicles. However, authorities successfully seized large quantities of Larica capsules, powder form of the same substance, and tools used for packaging the drugs.

Upon questioning, the inmate admitted to coordinating a shipment of Larica from an Asian country via air freight. Customs officials were immediately alerted, and a joint operation uncovered seven large boxes at the air cargo terminal, filled with additional Larica capsules.

In total, around 800,000 psychotropic capsules were confiscated, marking a significant blow to illegal drug trafficking operations in the region.
