Abu Dhabi has implemented a strict ban on operating quad bikes in residential areas, introducing severe penalties for violators. The new regulations carry a fine of 500,000 dirhams and include vehicle confiscation for those riding quad bikes in prohibited zones.
The ban comes in response to growing safety concerns, as these vehicles have posed significant risks to pedestrians and children in residential communities. Notably, parents will be held responsible if minors are caught violating the law, facing legal action for their children's infractions.
Authorities have also specified that quad bike riders must be at least 16 years old, possess proper licensing, and wear essential safety gear including helmets and protective equipment. The police have launched an awareness campaign on social media and are encouraging public reporting of violations to ensure community safety.
