The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Omar Al-Omar, has announced the establishment of a team led by the assistant undersecretary for Companies and Commercial Licenses Affairs.
The team will monitor private pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies to regulate the pricing of medications, particularly those related to diabetes and cardiology, as well as certain topical creams, in light of a recent price surge of approximately 85 percent. Furthermore, the team will assess the communications between these companies and pharmacies and the Ministry of Health. This will be complemented by inspections of pharmacies and drug companies to identify any violations, in collaboration with relevant institutions such as the Kuwait Municipality, Ministry of Health, Public Authority for Manpower, Central Bank of Kuwait, and Ministry of Interior.
