The Ministry of Interior has launched a new service for "vehicle ownership transfer" through the ‘Sahel’ application, as reported by Al Rai newspaper. This initiative is in line with the ministry's commitment to enhancing digital transformation, with the goal of simplifying services and providing citizens with a convenient electronic process that is accessible 24/7, thereby conserving both time and effort.
The Ministry of Interior commended the Insurance Regulation Unit for its contribution to establishing the operational framework for the new electronic vehicle ownership transfer service offered via the ‘Sahel’ app. The procedure consists of a straightforward series of steps. The seller is required to first navigate to the ‘Services’ list, select ‘Ministry of Interior,’ then ‘Traffic Services,’ and opt for ‘Transfer of Vehicle Ownership.’ They will need to submit a new order, identify the vehicle, and input the civil number of the new owner. A notification will be dispatched to the new owner, who must subsequently review and approve the transfer request, settle the insurance transfer fees, and send a notification to the seller.
