World Peace Day 2025: Gaza’s Struggle Amid Escalating Conflict

  • 21/09/2025

Gaza is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis as residents flee the ongoing Israeli military offensive targeting Gaza City. On the International Day of Peace, thousands are escaping one dire situation for another, underscoring the stark contrast between the day’s message and the harsh realities on the ground. The Palestinian Civil Defense reports that 4.5 million people have been displaced so far, with casualties exceeding 65,000 and over 1.6 million injured since the conflict began.

Yesterday alone, 51 people were killed, including 43 in Gaza City, while southern Gaza struggles to accommodate evacuees. The Israeli military has instructed residents to move south, but many areas are destroyed or uninhabitable. Thousands, including children, are living without basic necessities such as water, food, and shelter, with conditions described by residents as unbearable.

The most intense clashes are occurring in neighborhoods like Zeitoun, Tuf, Shejaiya, and Sheikh al-Radwan. As the conflict continues, the people of Gaza remain trapped in a cycle of violence and displacement, emphasizing the critical need for international efforts to restore peace and protect civilians in the region.
