Jobs Bill for Expatriates

Kuwait City :Hisham al-Salih, MP, introduced a bill to amend the Civil Service Act 15/1976 to nationalize public sector jobs.According to the bill, the appointment, reassignment and promotion of employees should be based on the decision of the special executive body, except for supervisory jobs that require special order.

The bill stipulates that the recruitment of expatriates should be on a temporary basis and expatriates will be given the opportunity only if natives or someone under other categories are unavailable   for employment . 


The recruitment priority under the Bill is as follows.

1. Kuwaiti nationals
2. Children of iKuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaiti individuals
3. Bedouns
4. Citizens of countries under the Gulf Corporation 
5.If other nationals are recruited under the 'E' category with a salary of more than 750 dinars, their name and employment details must be published on the official Kuwait site .
Prior to the recruitment of employees under Category 'E', the concerned institution should contact the Civil Service Commission to ensure that none of the applicants under other categories are available for employment.
