Indian Community in Kuwait Celebrates India’s 79th Independence Day Despite Scorching Heat

Despite the sweltering heat and high humidity, thousands of Indian expatriates gathered at the Indian Embassy in Kuwait to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day. The event began with Ambassador Dr. Adarsh Swaika paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue, followed by the The celebrations began with the hoisting of the tricolor national flag. The national anthem was sung and the President's Independence Day message was read.

In his speech, Ambassador Dr. Adarsh Swaika extended warm Independence Day greetings to the Indian community. He expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti leadership and government for their continued support in strengthening bilateral ties and their cooperation with the Indian diaspora. He also commended the large turnout despite the challenging summer weather, highlighting the community’s patriotic spirit.

Following the formal ceremony, the Ambassador interacted with attendees, exchanging greetings and fostering a sense of unity. As a gesture of appreciation, breakfast was served to all participants, courtesy of several Indian restaurants in Kuwait, adding a festive touch to the event.
