INSTITUTIONALl QUARANTINE; POSSIBILITY OF REVOKING THE LIST OF BANNED COUNTRIES

Kuwait City :Health sources have confirmed that the list of 35 banned countries is likely to be revoked, with the cabinet's decision to ensure that institutional quarantine is in place for all those arriving in the country from Sunday, February 21st. Kuwaiti  citizens will be given more priority and hotels will be available for those with valid residency documents, officials said.Since the institutional quarantine became mandatory, questions have been raised about the list of countries where citizens and expatriates are prohibited from entering Kuwait directly, and the decision to spend 14 days in countries that allow direct flights.


Sources said a batch of Pfizer vaccine could be expected in the country next week, but the number of vaccines will be low due to the limited number of batches coming in successively. According to sources, the Ministry of Health has been in touch with vaccine companies such as Oxford and Pfizer and has requested that the number of vaccine recipients be increased to 10,000 per day.In particular, sources said, the ministry is working to vaccinate the largest number of people as soon as possible due to the threat of the mutated  virus.
