DISTRIBUTION OF THE COVID 19 VACCINE EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED BY SEPTEMBER ;HEALTH MINISTER

Kuwait City : Health Minister (MoH) Sheikh Dr. Basel al-Sabah confirmed that most of the Covid-19 vaccinations will be completed by September . In addition, the number of Kuwaiti nationals need to be vaccinated is estimated at 850,000. He said if vaccines are available it would reach a maximum of 300,000 people per month.


The minister said this in a press release issued after the launch of two Covid-19 vaccination centers in the primary health care centers of Al-Naseem and Al-Masayel as part of efforts to expand the number of Covid-19 vaccine recipients.He said there would be 35 health centers near the Kuwait Vaccination Center at the Kuwait International Fair Ground and vaccines would be given to those working in the Ministry of Defense, the Interior Ministry, the National Security Forces, the Kuwait Fire Force, and their families.


He added that  the Kuwait Oil Company Hospital, which is responsible for vaccinating employees in the oil sector, care centers for the disabled and the elderly, and  for inpatients, mobile vaccination units will be launched tomorrow in the presence of doctors or medical emergency team .He pointed out that batches of vaccines approved for nationwide use, including Pfizer-Biotech, will be distributed weekly from next week, while the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine will be distributed at special intervals as per the contract.
