Kuwait City :The population of Gulf Cooperation Council member states fell by about 4% last year as a result of the deportation of expatriates following the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis and the fall in oil prices. The report, released by Credit Rating Agency and P&G Global, states that the number of expatriates will continue to decline until 2023 due to the slowdown in growth in non-oil sectors and nationalization policies. It points out that the total population of the GCC countries is unlikely to return to 57.6 million before 2023, equivalent to 2019.
