Kuwait City :Due to shortages and delays in receiving the vaccines as there is high global demand for acquiring vaccine quantities, the Ministry of Health decided to extend the interval between the two doses of vaccines. The gap between two doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be increased to six weeks but the interval will remain 3 weeks for those above 60 years, and those suffering from chronic diseases. In a press statement, the ministry said this decision will apply to everyone who received the first dose of the Pfizer/Biotech vaccine on or after Monday, May 3, 2021.

The sixteenth Pfizer vaccine shipment is expected to arrive in Kuwait on Sunday, 9 May.the arrival of the doses would help to ensure Kuwait’s vaccination campaign reaches its target of inoculating two million by end-June.To reduce crowding at the Mishref Fairground as it is the only vaccination center administering the Pfizer vaccine, Kuwait will be equipping five new vaccination centers to administer the Pfizer vaccine.
