SENIOR WHO OFFICIAL HAILS PARTNERSHIP WITH KUWAIT

Kuwait City : Jane Ellison, Executive Director for External Relations and Governance at the World Health Organization (WHO) applauded WHO's partnership and support by Kuwait.  Currently, Kuwait is at 12th place in terms of financial funding nations to the WHO in 2020. She commented that the two sides are technically cooperating on different levels, including efforts to ease the suffering of people in need everywhere. She added that Kuwait is among the top 20 donors for the organization. 


The World Health Organization (WHO) had set up a special page on its website in recognition of Kuwait’s partnership with the organization and highlighted various steps that Kuwait has taken on different fronts to aid the needy. The partnership with Kuwait also includes executing projects for sustainable development, COVID response plans, programs to tackle different diseases including Measles, Cholera, and Ebola. The page also says that Kuwait is the first and only Middle East contributor to WHO’s Contingency Fund for Emergencies (CFE), which helped WHO's response to 29 emergencies including 26 disease outbreaks and six natural disasters around the world.It also highlights the UN’s granting of the Humanitarian Leader title to His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and granting Kuwait the Humanitarian Center title in recognition of its continuous humanitarian efforts
