KUWAIT IS THE THIRD LEAST STRESSFUL ARAB CITY FOR ITS RESIDENCE;INDIA AND MANILA IN THE BOTTOM

Kuwait City ranked third in the Arab world and 66th globally in the index of the world's least and most stressed cities for the year 2021, according to the German magazine (Fi).

The index reached this conclusion based on a number of systemic and environmental factors, including safety, equity, social and political stability, unemployment, population density, pollution, weather, and others. The Index compares the least and most stressed cities for the year 2021 and analyzes 100 global cities.Cities were selected for their size and importance, as well as the availability of reliable and comparable data. The study consists of 4 main categories: governance, city, finance, and citizens' health, each of which consists of individual stress indicators that determine how much stress an individual can experience in a city.

In terms of security and safety, Kuwait scored 79.1 points, political and social stability 55.2 points, gender equality 44.5 points, and traffic congestion 84.3 points, which is a high percentage that indicates that Kuwait City does not suffer from high traffic congestion. Kuwait scored 90.6 points in the financial stress index, which means that the Kuwaiti does not suffer from stressful financial pressures.

Financial stress means disposable income after taxes and accommodation costs, as well as the level of prices in the city relative to the country average. With regard to the impact of Covid-19, Kuwait scored 63.8 points, which indicates a somewhat impact of the pandemic on the stress of citizens, as the higher the degree, the less the impact of the virus on people's stress.

On the Arab level, Abu Dhabi was ranked in the list of the least stressful cities for the year 2021, as it ranked 28th globally, followed by Doha in 56th place, then Kuwait in 66th place, followed by Riyadh in 77th place.Globally, the magazine ranked Reykjavik in Iceland as the least stressful city in the world for 2021, followed by Bern in Switzerland, Helsinki in Finland, Wellington in New Zealand, and Melbourne, Australia.As for the cities that cause the most pressure and stress for their residents, they were Mumbai, Lagos, Manila, New Delhi and Baghdad.
