REVENUE FROM TRAVEL AND TOURISM SECTOR FALLEN

Kuwait City: Revenue from the Travel and Tourism sector is estimated to have fallen by 1.066 billion dinars last year, The figures ere released by the World Travel and Tourism Council. As of 2019, Foreign Tourists spents 342.5 billion dinars in Kuwait. By 2020, it had dropped to 120.5 million dinars. The decline was 64.8 percent. In the tourism sector, 28,600 people lost their jobs. In 2019, 1,33.200 people were employed, while in 2020 only 1,04,600 people were employed. Globally the sector lost $ 4.5 trillion, according to the report.
