MASS RESIGNATION OF MEDICAL STAFF IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health is facing serious challenges as the fight against the Covid pandemic continues. In addition to the challenges from the outside, the resignation of the medical staff is a source of concern to the ministry from the inside. A large number of medical staff resigned last week. According to sources, the resignation of the expatriate doctors and nurses was due to neglect and breach of trust despite being fully employed for two years.

Doctors have denied the allegations on social media that the resignation was prompted by the removal of medical and nursing cadres from the list of frontline fighters. A month ago, the ministry had agreed to allow more than two weeks' leave as medical staff have been working continuously without leave for about two years. However, that decision was soon reversed. Not being able to see their family created a huge crisis for them. In addition, medical staff are raising a number of issues, including issues related to salaries, promotions and allowances.
