EXPENDITURE BY CITIZENS AND EXPATRIATES INCREASED

Kuwait City: The first quarter of 2021 saw a huge jump in the amount of money spent by citizens and expatriates. Expenditure increased by 46.5 per cent to 15.6 million dinars. In the first quarter of 2020, it was only 10.6 million dinars. The increase is 4.9 billion dinars. Expenditure by citizens and expatriates in Kuwait has increased.


The Central Bank of Kuwait estimates that more money was spent in the first quarter of 2021 than in the first quarter of 2019 before the covid epidemic. In the first quarter of 2019, only 11.9 billion dinars was spent.

It is estimated that the increase in spending is due to the return to normalcy in the country after the covid crisis, the deregulation and the approval of various activities.
