LANDSLIDE AT KUWAIT AIRPORT PROJECT SITE KILLS 2 EXPATRIATES

Kuwait City: Three Nepalese nationals have gone missing in a landslide at the construction site of  new passenger building project at Kuwait International Airport, while two others succumbed to their injuries after a rescue operation. 


After about 4 hours of searching, the workers were found 10 meters below the surface of the sand, and by then two had succumbed to their injuries. The rescued worker was taken to Farwaniya Hospital. 

Head of the General Fire Brigade, Lieutenant General Khalid Al Makrad, Under Secretary to the Ministry of Public Works, Engineer Walid Al-Ghanim, Director of the Airport Fire Department, Brigadier General Mohammed Haider Ali, Director of Airport Projects Implementation Department, Engineer Engineer Ministry and Public Works Ministry officials rushed to the spot and led the search.

Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Rana al-Faris formed an inquiry committee into the accident and recommended that a report be submitted within a week.
