Kuwait City: Air fares from India to the UAE are rising sharply. After the travel ban, fares were higher than they had been before, but for a few weeks it has been rising again. The immediate reasons for this are that the expo will start on October 1 and the direct attendance at the school will be 100 per cent from October 3.

With the end of the five-month travel ban, ticket prices have skyrocketed due to the influx of passengers into the UAE. But a spokesman for Al Badi Travel Agency said it had been rising sharply over the past few days. He added that ticket prices are likely to remain high for a few weeks from the start of the expo.

Tickets from New Delhi to Dubai now cost between 2,000 and 3,000 dirhams. A few weeks ago it was below 1500. According to travel agents, the rates are relatively low in Mumbai. At present, the fare from Mumbai to Dubai is 1700 dirhams. In July, the rates from Kochi and Kozhikode were less than 1000 dirhams. But today it is above 1500.
