Sharjah: Aiming to strengthen family structures and support young people, Sharjah has launched the Sustainable Future Youth Program — a collaborative initiative led by the Municipal Council, Sharjah City Municipality, and the Family Development Department. The program was officially inaugurated at Al Qasimia University Theatre.

Designed to assist young municipal employees preparing for marriage, the initiative provides comprehensive support including financial assistance, counselling services, and educational workshops. Its core mission is to foster emotionally and socially stable families that contribute to a stronger society.

Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Municipal Council, stated that the program aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, who advocates for building marriages on solid, value-based foundations.

Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director-General of the Municipality, emphasized the program's role as a bridge between the youth and government institutions, helping them prepare for responsible family life.

Aisha Al Motawa Al Suwaidi, the program head, outlined the phased structure of the initiative and stressed the importance of partnerships with other government entities, such as the Family Development and Economic Development Departments, to ensure relevant and impactful services for young people.

Modhi Al Shamsi, Head of the Family Development Department, highlighted that the initiative not only prepares youth for marriage but also promotes long-term family stability, encouraging a renewed and thoughtful approach to the concept of marriage.

The launch event concluded with a lecture by Sheikh Dr. Aziz Farhan Al Anzi, who spoke about the spiritual and social value of marriage, emphasizing that strong relationships are built on love, understanding, and mutual respect—values embedded in the program’s educational content.

The program will expand in phases to include young employees across various Sharjah government departments, reflecting the Emirate’s long-term commitment to youth empowerment and societal well-being.
