G42’s ‘Supercharged’ Event Celebrates AI Milestones and Global Partnerships

Abu Dhabi: G42 hosted ‘Supercharged’, its flagship event, uniting over 2,400 employees, global partners, and tech leaders in Abu Dhabi to mark the company’s seventh anniversary and showcase its rise as a major force in artificial intelligence.

Highlights included the Stargate UAE supercomputing project and plans for a five-gigawatt UAE–US AI Campus, reflecting G42’s expanding AI infrastructure. The event centered on making AI an everyday tool that is ‘always on and always learning.’

Tech giants joined in support: Microsoft President Brad Smith praised Microsoft’s $1.5 billion stake in G42 as a sign of trust in its strategic vision, while OpenAI CEO Sam Altman commended G42’s early leadership in AI.

G42 Group CEO Peng Xiao urged for stronger global collaboration, calling this era the ‘golden age of intelligence’, and encouraged viewing AI as ‘alternative’ or ‘accelerated intelligence’ to complement human abilities.

The first-ever G42 Catalyst Award went to Marty Edelman, the company’s General Counsel, for forging key partnerships with leading US tech companies.

Discussions spanned healthcare, space, cybersecurity, and sustainability. Highlights included:

Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health, announced plans to extend healthy lifespans through AI and genomics.

Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, UAE Cybersecurity Council head, shared updates on strengthening the nation’s cyber defense capabilities.

Alex Kipman, founder of Analog, showcased new edge-computing tech with a live robodog squad demonstration on stage.

Supercharged also spotlighted sustainability efforts like Bee:Wild, using AI to protect pollinators and promote biodiversity.

The event saw the reveal of G42’s new brand identity and an AI-powered website offering both voice and text navigation. It also broke records with 150 meters of LED screens and immersive 3D audio, setting a new benchmark for tech events in the region.

Adding to its focus on future talent, G42 welcomed five UAE university students, winners of an AI talent competition, underlining its dedication to nurturing the next generation of innovators.

The day closed with CEO Peng Xiao taking a selfie with attendees, followed by a global culinary experience and live music, capping off a milestone celebration for the UAE’s AI ambitions.
