IN SEPTEMBER, KUWAIT SOLD $500 MILLION IN US TREASURY BONDS

Kuwait City: Kuwait reduced its holdings of US Treasury bonds by 1.07 percent on a monthly basis last September, amounting to $500 million, putting it third in the Gulf region. This decrease follows a rise that occurred in August of last year.


Last September, the value of Kuwait's holdings of US bonds was $46.3 billion, down from $46.8 billion in August, according to data published on the US Treasury website. 

Kuwait also reduced its holdings of US bonds by 0.64 percent, compared to previous levels of $46.6 billion in September 2020, and the country diversified its holdings of US bonds between short-term bonds worth $12.03 billion and long-term bonds worth $12.03 billion. 34.27 billion dollars

In terms of holdings of US bonds, the Gulf states' strategy shifted in September, with Saudi investments increasing to $124.3 billion, up from $124.1 billion in August, with $100.44 billion in long-term bonds and $23.85 billion in short-term bonds. 

While UAE investments fell to $58.8 billion in August, down from $58.7 billion in August of last year, including $32.38 billion in long-term bonds and $25.73 billion in short-term bonds.
