KUWAIT CITY : MP Ahmed Al-Hamad has confirmed that Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Essa Al-Salman has responded to his questions about growing commodity prices, price controls, and plans to eliminate subsidised commodities such as rice and oil.

The minister, he added, ascribed the rise in some commodity costs to higher raw material prices, weaker productivity in manufacturing countries, a scarcity of labour, and a protracted shipping period.

These are some of the harmful implications of the Covid-19 situation, according to the minister, particularly for exporting nations with a large number of corona cases.
