82.5% EXPATS HIGH-SCHOOLERS

Kuwait City: According to official data, 1.22 million expats have general secondary education (high school or lower) — accounting for 82.5 percent of the 1.479 million expatriates in the local labour market. Expats working in Kuwait with a high school diploma or its equivalent numbered 335,280; those with an intermediate certificate numbered 739,500; and those with primary certificates numbered 139,270, with 7,503 able to read and write and 286 illiterate.


17,500 expats work for the government, including 7,338 who have a high school diploma or its equivalent, 4,384 who have an intermediate certificate, 650 who have an elementary certificate, 4,907 who can read and write, and 286 who are illiterate; the rest work in the private sector.
