KUWAIT RANKS 22ND IN WORLD IN TERMS OF US WEAPON PURCHASES, AND SECOND LAST IN GULF

Kuwait City: The 24/7 Wall Street website has compiled a list of 25 countries that mostly buy American armaments. Kuwait was ranked 22nd on this list, and second last among Gulf countries. According to the website, Kuwait purchased weapons worth $ 1.37 billion from the United States of America between 2010 and 2020. During the same time period, imports of guns from the United States accounted for 75.4 percent of total imports. 


In contrast, Kuwait's military budget in 2020 was $ 6.94 billion, or 6.5 percent of GDP. Oman was ranked 25th in the world and spent $0.78 billion on weaponry between 2010 and 2020. Morocco ranked 17th in the world, spending $2.09 billion on American armaments during the aforementioned time period.
