Kuwait City: The Ministry of Commerce has tightened surveillance in the market and continues to take strict action. Hamid al-Dafri, head of the Capital Emergency Team at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said action had been taken against a co-operative society for finding two prices for the same product. He said an inspection by the emergency team revealed the violation and ordered the society to close immediately.

The same product was charged at 250 fils in one place and 285 fils in another. Hamid al-Dafri said it was a clear violation of the law. Such activities are done to deceive the consumer that the price is low. When buying the product from the cashier, it was clear that the price was higher than the declared price. Authorities said action had also been taken against the association.
