KUWAIT READY TO LEVY TAX OF UP TO 25%

Kuwait City: Kuwait with plans to implement selective taxation. The government has taken practical steps to study the implementation of the concept of selective taxation on tobacco and its derivatives, including soft drinks and other beverages. As well as luxury cars and boats - there are plans to implement selective taxation instead of value-added tax. According to the study, the range of selective taxation ranges from 10 to 25 percent.


Conversion to the new method of waiving value added tax requires the approval of the National Assembly. Earlier, this system was rejected by the people and Parliament. Therefore, the assessment is that it is very difficult to implement. According to sources, the government will receive 500 million dinars a year if the Selective Value Tax is applied.
