SALES OF COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS, INFLATION ; KUWAIT MINISTRY OF COMMERCE TAKES ACTION

Kuwait City:  The Ministry of Commerce has taken stern action against the sale of counterfeit products and artificial inflation. The Capital Emergency Team at the Ministry closed a shop selling counterfeit products in the Capital Governorate. Counterfeit products of international brands such as women's bags and textiles were sold here. Hamid al-Dafouri, head of the Capital Emergency Team, said inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce had been appointed in all governorates across the country.


The inspectors are tasked with ensuring that the rules are strictly followed in the market. The ministry is monitoring violations of the law such as trade fraud, unjustified inflation, black money, monopoly and concealment of goods. Al-Dhafouri added that in addition to the inspections carried out by the ministry, action is being taken on the basis of consumer complaints.
