Kuwait City: Real estate owners and residents complain about the neglect and discrimination against the Jalib area. They pointed out that the social and economic neglect shown by the government to the area was causing security problems and preventing them from selling the property for 15 years due to special provisions in the Ownership Act. Locals warned that they would take legal action if they were not allowed to sell their property.

Earlier, a special committee was appointed to study the problems related to the Jalib Shuyuk area and suggest solutions. A committee comprising representatives from several ministries had submitted its report but no further action had been taken so far. A resident of Jalib al-Shuyoukh, who came to power in 1965, said that banning more than 1,600 families from selling their property was a violation of the law and human values. Said Muhammad al-Haras. Jalib is one of the most populous foreign countries in the country. Authorities must be prepared to accommodate foreigners before they can be removed from Jalib. The very idea of shifting more than four lakh foreigners without proper planning is anti-human. Muhammad said. Rashid al-Mutairi, a local resident, said Jaliben was a strategically important part of the country and wanted to transform the region into one of the best commercial, leisure and tourist destinations in the country.
