BIDEN ANNOUNCES $33 BILLION IN AID TO UKRAINE'S WAR-TORN COUNTRY

  • 28/04/2022

President Biden is to urge Congress for $33 billion (£27 billion) in military, economic, and humanitarian aid to help Ukraine "during the next five months." Mr. Biden stated that improving the package was "essential" for US politicians. More than $20 billion in military aid, $8.5 billion in economic help, and $3 billion in humanitarian aid are included in the package.

The White House has also advocated making it easier for the US to confiscate and sell the assets of Russian oligarchs and send the revenues to Ukraine. The recommendations made public on Thursday represent a major increase in US aid to Ukraine. Mr Biden's first financing proposal, which was approved by Congress last month after the conflict began, was less than $14 billion.
