Kuwait City: Muhammad Al-Fureih, a food industry advisor, said that a chicken catastrophe is looming on the horizon as feed prices grow globally due to a lack of government support for production businesses. He forewarned of the effects of global situations on the local situation. Al-Fraih emphasised that the government should either provide subsidies to poultry and meat producers or allow them to raise prices to cover their losses, adding that "otherwise, the current conditions will cause some companies to cease production, and the negative effects of this halt will be on food security."
