IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 80.2 PERCENT OF KUWAITI GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ARE EXPATRIATES

Kuwait City: According to estimates, 80.2 percent of government agency personnel are Kuwaiti nationals. Only 19.8 percent of government employees are non-Kuwaitis. The Central Administration of Statistics releases the figures. As of March 31, there were 451,960 personnel in government entities, 362 of whom were Kuwaiti citizens. There are 89,827 non-Kuwaitis.


The figures suggest that efforts to increase diversity in government institutions have been successful. Simultaneously, the total number of personnel in various ministries stood at 336,849. 268 and 186 are Kuwaiti citizens, respectively. Non-citizens number 68,663. Government departments employ 27,228 people. 24545 of these persons are citizens. There are 2683 non-Kuwaitis.
