SEVEN ASIANS CONFIRMED DECEASED IN UAE DUE TO SEVERE RAINFALL

Dubai: In the recent heavy rains in the Northern Emirates, 7 Asians have been reported dead. It is unknown which country they are from or any other information. It is unclear whether more people are missing.


The army and emergency response teams have increased their efforts to determine whether anyone is stuck in flood-affected areas. Helicopters are often used for monitoring in mountainous and valleyous locations. Until late Friday night, no body had arrived at the Ras Al Khaimah Police Mortuary. 

The authorities said police, rescue and ambulance teams are continuously exerting all efforts to secure and protect people and properties and regulate traffic flawlessly. Some 870 people were rescued in Sharjah and Fujairah.

The Emirate of Fujairah witnessed the highest amount of rain in the country in 27 years with a record 221.8 mm.
