KUWAIT IS THE SECOND-MOST ACCESSIBLE 5G COUNTRY IN GCC

Kuwait City : A report released by Opensignal, an analytics firm measuring mobile network experience, placed Kuwait second among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in terms of the availability of the 5G telecommunications network, with a rate of 33.6%. The UAE led the GCC nations in terms of download speed using 5G technology, coming in first with a speed of 316.8 MB/s, followed by Kuwait with 263.4 MB/s and Qatar in second place with 278.5 MB/s.


 The same three nations also topped the list of peak download speeds, with the UAE scoring 743.3 MB/s, Qatar 713.4 MB/s, and Kuwait 663.7 MB/s. Saudi Arabia came in second with 635.9 MB/s, followed by the Sultanate of Oman with 503.5 MB/s and Bahrain with 469.4 MB/s. It's interesting to note that Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman both observed a difference in peak speed to off-peak times of an average of 2.7 times. 

The results of using 5G technology showed that the upload speed was much slower than the download speed. The Sultanate of Oman came in last with a download speed of 13.5 MB/sec, followed by Bahrain at 15.3 MB/sec, the UAE at 27.6 MB/s, Kuwait at 24.6 MB/s, Saudi Arabia at 23.7 MB/s, and Qatar at the top of the list.
