22 ORPHANS ARE RAISED IN CARE FACILITY AFTER SUCCESS OF "SURROGATE MOTHERS" STEP

Kuwait City: Iman Al-Enezi, the supervisor of the family nursery in the social care homes connected to the Ministry of Social Affairs, claimed that Kuwait's experience in approving the practise of the "surrogate mother" in embracing orphans of the homes over the past 8 years has been successful and has significantly increased the educational attainment and emotional stability of orphaned children. Six surrogate mothers, she continued, had been carefully chosen to care for the orphan children. Before being assigned the responsibility of raising the children, they underwent psychological testing and personal interviews to determine their suitability for caring for children and their capacity to fulfil their positive role as surrogate mothers.

Since they are currently caring for 22 children in what Al-Enezi called "independent" homes within the Children's Home Department outfitted with all necessities to help them live next to the children, we have seen many benefits to the presence of surrogate mothers over the past eight years, according to Al-Enezi. She claimed that increasing children's academic achievement in schools, enhancing views of assimilation and intelligence, exposing them to Kuwaiti customs and traditions, helping them develop communication skills, and assisting them in realising their future aspirations are just a few benefits of their presence.
