Kuwait City: About 100,000 people in Kuwait suffer from psoriasis, according to Dr. Muhammad Al-Otaibi, head of the dermatology division at Jahra Hospital. Dr. Al-Otaibi stated that psoriasis is one of the most prevalent diseases in the world in a press release distributed during the department's celebration of World Psoriasis Day. One to four percent is the global incidence rate, and three to four percent is the rate in Arab nations. The disease manifests as red spots, which can vary in size and are noticeable on the skin's surface and are covered in brown scales.

Any area of the body can be affected by psoriasis.

All dermatological departments at the Ministry of Health offer conventional topical medications as one form of psoriasis treatment.

Phototherapy and oral therapy are used if the rate of spread in the body is greater than 30%. In recent years, specialised businesses have offered biological drugs, such as needles used under the skin, as alternatives in the treatment of psoriasis, and these have proven effective for moderate to severe infection.

Hereditary factors, some stress medications, and environmental changes are the causes of psoriasis. It rises during the winter and falls off in the summer. Point psoriasis is the medical term for childhood tonsillitis.

The patient can lead a normal life because the illness is not contagious. It is better to avoid using creams from unidentified sources, such as blends or conventional remedies that are regrettably marketed. The outcome will unavoidably be harmful to the patient.

The hospital director, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Busais, who attended the event, disclosed that a lecture on the illness and how to treat it with specialised medical care and consultations was given during the occasion.

Dr. Al-Busais emphasised the need for an awareness role in a press statement and highlighted the eagerness of the people of Jahra Governorate to actively participate and listen to medical professionals.
