KUWAIT EXECUTED 84 PEOPLE IN LAST 50 YEARS

Kuwait City: It is estimated that 84 people were executed in Kuwait during the last half century. The death penalty is still a controversial issue in the country. There are many people in the country who oppose the death penalty. They argue that the solution to reducing crime is to fight its causes. Political debates about human rights and punishment continue to rage in the country at large. 


20 Kuwaitis and 15 Pakistanis are the top nationalities during this period, 7 people are to be hanged in Kuwait today.  

There are those who support the resumption of the death penalty in Kuwait. They argue that the non-implementation of the death penalty makes it easier for many to commit heinous crimes. They say that even the safety of life is concerned. Human rights activists have long called for the death penalty to be abolished and the perpetrator imprisoned instead. Human rights activists argue that the purpose of punishment is to correct the offender and bring him back into the society in a better way.
