KUWAIT MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY TO CHANGE 'GENERAL TRADING AND CONTRACTING' CATEGORY BEFORE MARCH 31

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has instructed all general trading and contracting companies to adjust their status by choosing one of the international activities that match the purposes of their licenses before March 31, 2023, according to observations made by the World Bank. The World Bank's observations indicate that the activity of public trade and contracting is a local activity that does not conform to international classification. 


The amendments do not affect the legal entity or trade name. Even if it includes the words general trading and contracting, the name will remain the same and the seniority will continue. Company owners can also add all their activities without affecting their business or trade name. The commercial registration number will remain. And the job can continue as is, with no additional requirements for a board of directors or capital.
