UK regulators fined TikTok £12.7 million for failing to use children's personal data lawfully and "did not do enough" to stop minors from using its platform.

Despite its own rules prohibiting children under 13 from opening accounts, the Chinese-owned social media app allegedly failed to obtain parental consent for up to 1.4 million UK children under 13 among its users, according to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
