Specialist in domestic labor affairs warns of crisis due to large demand for domestic workers

In the absence of alternative export markets for domestic workers, Bassam Al-Shammari, a specialist in domestic labor affairs, warned of a severe crisis looming in the coming months due to the large and continuous demand for domestic workers.

Al-Shammari explained that “Kuwait’s average need for female domestic workers ranges from 420 to 450 thousand annually, while the average demand for male domestic workers is about 360 thousand,” pointing out that “the high demand for male domestic workers is due to urban expansion movement.
