Kuwait stops importing second and third generation phones

The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has stopped granting permissions for the import and entry of peripheral communication devices that operate only on the second or third generation technology for communications to the country’s markets, as of September 1.

The phone which works according to the 2G and 3G networks, will be officially stopped being imported, starting from the beginning of next September. The source explained that the authority has an integrated plan to cancel the use of the second and third generation frequencies within two years.
