Financial penalty of 5,000 dinars for beach encroachment

Together with the Environment Police, the Environment Public Authority has started weekend campaigns to reduce beach encroachment. Beachgoers have been made aware of the rules and their enforcement by inspection teams connected to the authority.

Three violations were discovered during a recent campaign at Marina Beach. The Environment Public Authority's Nada Al-Dabbashi, the Director of the Inspection Department, stressed that encroachments on beaches are strictly forbidden by law and carry a 5,000 dinar fine for violators. Additionally, those who pollute the environment will be referred to the Public Prosecution for the proper legal action.
