BRICS invites 6 countries, including Saudi Arabia and UAE, to become members

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said yesterday that the BRICS group of countries decided to invite 6 countries to its membership, which are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Argentina, Iran and Ethiopia. The discussion on expanding the membership of the group, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, topped the agenda of a 3-day summit. Membership of the new countries that will join the BRICS group will begin as of January 1, 2024.
