AN ESTIMATED 2,80,000 EXPATRIATES ARE STRANDED ABROAD

Kuwait City: It is estimated that 280,000 expatriates with valid residence visas are stranded abroad. Most of them are Arab nationals and Asians. Residence permits for 250,000 expatriates have expired due to non-renewal of residency since the beginning of last year.

More than a thousand expatriates have fled the country due to the restrictions imposed by the epidemic. However, sources said that expatriates have been allowed to enter the country since August 1, but not in large numbers.

The vaccination condition is the biggest problem. The problem is that most expatriates are not vaccinated in Kuwait. In addition, verifying the vaccination certificate complicates matters.
