Manama:The new flyover connecting Manama and Busaiteen is set to open to traffic in December, authorities have confirmed.
The double-lane flyover, under construction in both directions, will extend traffic flow from Manama via the Sheikh Isa bin Salman Causeway to the Muharraq Ring Road via Avenue 105 in Busaiteen.
Muharraq Councilor Mohammed Al Mahmoud explained that the flyover is part of the wider development of the Muharraq Ring Road and the Fourth Bridge, a major infrastructure project aimed at improving transportation links and easing congestion throughout the Muharraq Governorate.
The new flyover will help divert traffic smoothly from the Ring Road towards Muharraq City, reducing congestion between Manama and Muharraq, two of Bahrain’s busiest areas.
As construction progresses, traffic diversions have been implemented in coordination with the General Directorate of the Ministry of Interior to ensure minimal disruption.
Traffic from Muharraq to Manama has been redirected through alternative routes via the Sheikh Isa bin Salman Causeway.
Traffic from Manama to Muharraq has also been diverted to designated alternative routes using the same bridge.
Once operational, the flyover is expected to significantly improve traffic flow, shorten travel times, and contribute to the ongoing modernization of Bahrain’s road network.
