MORE TALKS ON EXPATS OVER 60s IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Promoting Integrity, is claimed to be very interested in resolving the issue of non-graduate expatriates 60 years and older, because a decision was made a year ago to stop renewing their work licences.  Al-Jalawi stated that the board of directors of the Public Authority for Manpower will meet on Sunday to analyse the case and come up with acceptable remedies, as well as express his opinion.

He described the most recent Cabinet meeting as a "get to know" gathering, although the 60s file was not presented during the discussion. The Ministry of Interior, for its part, continues to provide temporary residency licences to expats from this group whose work permits have expired, according to informed sources.
