IN TWO YEARS, THE GTD HAS ISSUED 51,000 VIOLATIONS FOR CELL PHONE USE AND INATTENTION IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: According to the Ministry of Interior, during the last two years, the traffic sector issued more than 50,000 violations to reduce accidents caused by using a cellphone while driving and not paying attention, considering that these two infractions are responsible for a substantial number of incidents.


According to Ministry of Interior sources, the number of offences connected to using a mobile phone while driving during the previous two years (2020 and 2021) was 30,082 and 20,880 for 'inattentiveness' while driving.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to road user safety by broadcasting awareness guidelines and intensifying efforts, urging people and residents to follow traffic laws and norms.
